Information about Furway
Furway is a non-profit Norwegian furry convention held outdoors. Some would say it’s a camping con, but with indoor sleeping capacity and modern toilets and showers it’s more of a hybrid type of experience.
Whether you love camping and hiking, or if you just want to experience just the right amount of wilderness alongside furry convention culture, Furway might be something to try out!
Furway is held at Åstjern hyttetun.
Åstjern consists of one main cabin, an annex and three smaller cabins. There’s also a bonfire place, of course! The lake Åstjernet is less than a 5-minute walk from the cabins.

Single day ticket
A single-day ticket includes participation in convention activities for one day, as well as transport to and from the train/bus station by the Furway transporters. Single-day tickets do not include any food, but you are of course welcome to bring your own. Attendees with single-day tickets must leave the convention area by 20:00 each day. If you can provide your own transportation and are at least 18 years old, you may stay until 02:00 the following morning.
You must be 18 or older to stay the night. People under the age of 18 may only purchase day tickets and can not spend the night at the convention.
Åstjern offers 64 bed slots with an additional 30 slots located a 5-minute walk away, ideal for those seeking a quieter environment. Attendees will be assigned to rooms of various sizes. Roommates will be assigned in a way that accommodates attendee preferences. While most rooms are shared, there are a limited number of single rooms available upon request.
All beds come with pillows and duvets, but attendees should bring their own bedding (sheets, pillowcases, duvet cover, etc.) or a sleeping bag if they are unable to bring bedding. Venue bedding is available for rent if needed.
For those who prefer the outdoors, we have space for 30 people in tents. (Even though nature can accommodate far more, our facilities and venue sadly can't!) If you plan to sleep in your car, an Outside ticket is required for access to facilities and electricity. Remember to bring your own tent.
If you are bringing a van, please contact us in advance to ensure availability. The cost for van power is 50 NOK per day.
Åstjern has fully equipped sanitary facilities, meaning several indoor toilets and showers. These are in a common area. There's also electricity, so you'll be able to charge your electrical devices.
Shoes are not permitted inside, so we recommend that you bring slippers or other footwear that is easy to take on and off.
Where is Furway being held and how do I get there?

If you arrive Thursday, we have available drivers from 14:00 to 20:00. If you arrive Friday, we have available drivers from 12:00 to 20:00. For your departure our drivers are available from 12:00 – 20:00 on Sunday, and from 12:00 – 16:00 on Monday. Please contact our main driver Iraxt on Telegram @Iraxt at least 30 minutes before your arrival to arrange transportation.
The times mentioned are important for the people in need transport from a bus/train station and back, so please plan accordingly. If you’re traveling from far away and can’t choose an alternative within our drivers' schedule, let us know and we’ll sort out something for you – you’ll find a field when you register.
Food and serving
We use a catering service Åstjern provides, along with our volunteer kitchen staff, to ensure you're fed during the convention. The table below shows which meals are included with the various ticket types.
Furway caters to specific dietary needs. You'll find a field for entering this information when registering. Keep in mind however that the convention cannot accommodate for all kinds of tastes and considerations, and that you should consider bringing your own food if you have significant struggles with foreign food types and textures.
We recommend that you do all personal shopping beforehand, as there aren’t any stores within walking distance from the venue. Our drivers will do some trips to stores to buy essentials, but we can’t guarantee that you get a slot on one of these rides.
